Let’s Get Motivational

It’s Monday .. so let’s get motivational, shall we?
I’m a hardcore quote junkie – constantly browsing through them on Tumblr and Pinterest on any downtime – and have been for as long as I can remember. So today I’m sharing just a few of my most recent finds/favs to help you conquer this Monday, kickoff this week, and simply feel a little more inspired, motivated, and self-loving.
(For Monday’s in general: I also suggest coffee .. lots of it.)

“Dear woman,
Sometimes you’ll just be too much woman.
Too smart, too beautiful, too strong.
Too much of something that makes a man feel like less of a man,
which will start making you feel like you have to be less of a woman.
The biggest mistake you can make
is removing jewels from your crown to make it easier for a man to carry.
When this happens, I need you to understand,
you do not need a smaller crown – you need a man with bigger hands.”

“People should dress the way they want.
Any rules for age or shape are silly.
If you walk out the door feeling good about yourself,
that’s what counts.
– Sarah Jessica Parker

I firmly believe in small gestures:
pay for their coffee, hold the door for strangers, over tip,
smile or try to be kind even when you don’t feel like it, pay compliments,
chase the kid’s runaway ball down the sidewalk and throw it back to him,
try to be larger than you are – particularly when it’s difficult.
People do notice, people appreciate. I appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me.
Small gestures can be an effort, or actually go against our grain,
but the irony is that almost every time you make them, you feel better about yourself.
For a moment life suddenly feels lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain.
